FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall a lot? Don't worry, you're not alone. Millions of people from all around the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are:

Tension

Too much work

Illness

Poor diet

Over-exposure to the sun

Perming

Amateur bleaching

Too frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants

Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil.

COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month 隆V if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

Quick Hair Care Conditioner

Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

Honey Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

Alcohol Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours

ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

Wide-toothed comb

Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

Egg

Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.Does dandruff causes hair loss?
It is important to make sure that it is in fact dandruff and not another scalp problem (such as psoriasis, which can definitely cause hair loss). Dandruff and other scalp problems can weaken the follicles of your hair, which means that it is more likely to fall out. In the end Dandruff is not a direct cause of hair loss, however anything that weakens your hair strength can lead to hair loss.
DANDRUFF MAY CAUSE HAIR LOSS, BUT NOT ABSOLUTELY, IF YOU ARE SUFFERING HAIR LOSS, TAKE SOME FRIED BLACK SESAME, IT WILL MAKE YOU HAIR STRONGER AND STRONGER.
You might have dandruff for the same reason you're losing your hair (the change of seasons effects hair loss and scalp health for example) but I'm pretty sure dandruff doesn't cause hair loss.
Yes.Dandruff is one of the major disorders of the scalp.Poor hygiene, improper diet ,sluggish condition of the scalp caused by poor blood circulation are the main causes of dandruff. More simple remedies for dandruff at http://usefulinfo-dandruff.blogspot.com/

Does dandruff cause hair loss?

I think i have dandruff..

Do i have to do anything about it? Like what does dandruff actually do to my hair/scalp? ThanksDoes dandruff cause hair loss?
Don't worry. Dandruff doesn't harm your hair or anything. It especially doesn't cause hair loss. It is simply dry skin on your scalp. You can get special shampoo and conditioner that smells very good. Head %26amp; Shoulders is very effective for dandruff, and you can get different scents. No, you don't have to o anything about it, but if it's bugging you, buy the shampoo and conditioner, or if it's too bad, you can take a trip to the dermatologist.Does dandruff cause hair loss?
dandruff is just dry skin on the scalp. just get some head and shoulders shampoo and conditioner and it will go right away.

In cats, what would cause a lot of hair loss and dandruff in one small area?

My cat is about 5 or 6 years old, and seems to be healthy in every way except for this. A strip of her coat about an inch wide and three inches long, from about the mid back to almost her tail, is shedding a lot more hair than the rest of her body. Also, only in that area, she has a lot of large dandruff flakes. She doesn't seem to have dandruff in any other area, nor excessive hair loss in any other area.

She has a very soft coat of fur, but I have noticed that the area shedding so much is a lot less soft. She doesn't seem to be in any pain when I pet her there, though perhaps a little annoyed. I'm not sure if that's me being paranoid or not though, as she's always prefered me petting her neck and chin than her back or rump.

She has no other unusual symptoms other than the hair loss and dandruff. I haven't noticed any weight loss or weight gain, urination or bowel problems, excessive thirst, or anything else like that. She seems to be acting the same as always also, both around me and the other cats. I got paranoid and looked up a million or so cat diseases in my distress, but there are no other symptoms that match any of the illnesses I found.

I was just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this, and if they have any idea's on what might be the problem. In cats, what would cause a lot of hair loss and dandruff in one small area?
this happeneds to my cat her rump area gets dandruff and sheds a lot more than normal, we talked to the vet about it once and he gave us a spray to brush into her coat when used regularly it makes a difference, although one time she got really bad and when we groomed her i think her undercoat basically all came out in that one area, when this happened i used the spray on her more frequently and it all grew back in fine, if your really concerned take your cat to the vet or talk about it on your next visit,

good luck and hope this helps =3In cats, what would cause a lot of hair loss and dandruff in one small area?
This is most likley self induced ie she is licking the hair off. It is common. Stress or who knows can be the culprit. Have her checked. If she is licking, putting the hair stubble under a microscope will show the fracrtured hair ends. Treatment is easy.

Having said that, it is not the only possible problem. So get her checked.

possibly food allergies..

probably not ring worm but maybe look up pictures of that.. usually its round areas rather than long..
Don't feel bad :(

It could just be a skin infection or just old age

Hopefully nothing to bad to worry about but it might be an idea to take it to the vet or something just to be sure...

probably just cleans itself alot in that specific area..thats why that area looks bald .

my cats like that.

no biggie.

What type of dandruff is causing my hair loss?

I'm african american female with relaxed hair I've been using no lye relaxers. I have very itchy scalp and dandruff that seems to be causing hair loss. My hair comes out from the root, and I see a white bulb at the root of the hair. I've tried the following products: Nizoral, Neutrogena T Gel, Selsum Blue, Head and Shoulders, tea tree oil, olive oil, several scalp oils and creams, hot oil treatments, and it just makes the dandruff even worse. I wash my hair once a week, condition it and use very little heat and when I do use heat I use thermal protection. What could I do to get my scalp healthy? What type of dandruff is causing my hair loss?
2 year ago I was having this problem I know that your having a allergic reaction to SLS this is a harsh detergent that they use in every commercial shampoo. I suggest to try a organic shampoo that doesn't have this cheap chemical .I recommend to use desert essence fragrance free shampoo is about $ 7 buck at vitamin shoppe stores, it was the only thing that really help me is a organic shampoo that cleans %26amp; stop my dandruff problem .I have 1 year using it %26amp; my dandruff has never appear now my hair feels more healthy also very shiny but if you don't get better using this shampoo for one month you really need to go to a dermatologist so you can get a professional answer. desertessence.com

u can use a shampoo called NIZORAL.....this is a medicated shampoo specially made for dandruff......u can use this and this should take care of the same.

alternatively, u can try using lemons on ur hair.....cut a lemon into 2 halves and rub them on ur scalp....this should take care of it as well (but there is a possibility that ur hair will turn white) with prolongated use.

the best treatment for dandruff is NIZORAL.I've got terrible dandruff that causes itching in scalp and hair loss, can u suggest a remedy/shampoo please?
try this very effective remedy for danadruff

Go get some apple cider vinegar and add 1/4-cup of it to the same amount of warm water and put some of it on your scalp. Cover your head with a towel for half an hour and then get in the shower and rinse it out, thoroughly, to get some much needed relief from the itchiness and scaling of dandruff. You only need to do this once weekly.
so try this...regular trims are a must, about every 7-9 weeks. if its been awhile since you have had a trim then inches may be called for to get to healthy hair. i use vitamin e on fresh washed hair.(its a vitamin that can be purchased where you buy vitamins, cut open capsule, squeeze into hand, rub hands together and apply to hair) dont message into scalp. if you get too much then just rewash it. hair will feel slightly sticky until dry then it will be nice and soft. it tames the frizzies, deep conditions and makes hair grow about three in a month. it takes about a month for the e to kick in. dont brush your hair but maybe once a week to message the scalp, i use a wide tooth comb at other times. brushing breaks off hair. i just started biotin vitamins two months ago this sat and notice and big growth spurt from that. biotin is cheap. i also have the biotin shampoo that i got from a vitamin store online. five bucks for a big bottle and a big bottle of E is about 8 bucks. the biotin is about 3 bucks. good luck
Head and Shoulders shampoo and conditioner is good, use it as a regular shampoo also if you wish
I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too

Diabetes causing bad breath possible hair loss and dandruff what can I do?

I was diagnosed with type two diabetes about 6 months ago.

I've gotten on the medication metformin.

I have lost 40 pounds or so.

I am wondering if there is anything at all I can do about my skin condition of dry skin and also am concerned about the bad breath.

I brush my teeth a few times a day but it still stinks after a few hours. I get tired of brushing it out again. **sigh**Diabetes causing bad breath possible hair loss and dandruff what can I do?
I eat breath savers like they are going out of style! they don't have very much sugar in them and I plan in some for every day. Also other breath mint thingies.

Dry skin: Use bath oil, baby oil, etc before getting out of shower or tub. Then rub in some lotion. Add a bit of natural fats like butter, whole milk, etc to your food plan. It works wonders for dry skin.

Hair loss and dandruff will neutralize after a while being on the Metformin. I don't know why it causes the problem, but it does. The dandruff is the same as the dry skin problem. I use a moisturizing conditioner on my hair and be sure to rub it in to scalp well. Brush hair frequently!!!Diabetes causing bad breath possible hair loss and dandruff what can I do?
Are you checking your blood sugars? High blood sugars causes ketones in the blood which can show up as bad breath. Weight loss could also cause ketones if you are losing it too fast. Dry skin is water balance. When you are losing weight you need to drink more water than you want by thirst alone. I keep a bottle in every place I spend time and take a drink every time I look at the bottle, it helps. There is no mask or cure for bad breath caused by ketones in the blood. But when you weight is at the normal level and you are managing your blood sugars, you will stop producing ketones.
maybe a side effect of the metformin..discuss this with your doc..there are other alternatives if this is really bothering you
Iam sorry for what you are going through, My advise is contact you doctor about it and the earlier the better but in all just ber firm you will go through it if you are srong and just to let you know that you are not alone, please let you doctor know what you are experiecing. Praying for you.

Is there a dandruff shampoo or remedy that won't cause hair loss?

i head that selsum blue and head and shoulders cause hair loss and i was wondering if there is any shampoo that doesn't cause hair loss. i also read somewhere that adding tea tree oil to normal shampoo works well. is this true? would dove or paul mitchell work?Is there a dandruff shampoo or remedy that won't cause hair loss?
i use head and shoulders shampoo it's great it makes your hair smell good and it made my dandruff go away in a week although my dandruff was dry scalp not real dandruff and my hair has not fallen out it's actually a great shampooIs there a dandruff shampoo or remedy that won't cause hair loss?
Yes!!

I was worried about this exact same problem, and I never have used selsun blue because my dad used it and suffered hair loss.

use Aveda, the Scalp Remedy kind.

I went to an expensive hair salon in New york and they offered this to me. I used the shampoo and conditioner, and i wasn't sure about it, but it really works well.

After I shampoo/condition, and i'm done showering, I use another solution also by aveda scalp remedy; it's called:

Aveda scalp remedy dandruff solution spray.

I now no longer have dandruff, and I don't always have to wear hats or tie back my hair so that no one sees it!

My hair is actually softer now, and it comes out thicker; it doesnt fall out as easily because this shampoo not only takes away dandruff, but it enhances your roots!

Good luck!

PS: aveda is a bit pricey but it works very well,i'll assure you that.
it's more so the stripping that those two shampoos (selsum and h%26amp;s) may cause. Im guess you want body, volume, and strength, right? Garnier Frutis is save on all hair... i use the length and strengthing one and it works well. the more you use it the stronger/thicker your hair will be. also it might not be bad to get a deep conditioning treatment done at a salon, (usually its like 25 bucks) - do that once a month or every two months.

just a suggestion
i know one, head and shoulders. they are good in dandruff free shampoos. and they've been at it for centuries. its really a good shampoo. and not expensive.
